Always a reader, the lure of m/m romance was strong and she devoured hundreds of wonderful m/m romance books before eventually realising she had some stories of her own that needed to be told!

Although Damon, one of the main characters, runs a BDSM club, this book felt more like an emotional journey with some light dominance and submission, rather than focusing on other elements of the lifestyle. This was a GOOD thing as the book was character focused and delved deeply into the emotions of each man. The relationship between the men was highly sexual, with these scenes well-written.Tanner is with his fellow army buddy Jesse when he dies, but not before making Tanner promise to visit his boyfriend in 12 months. Damon was Jesse's Dom and has struggled since his death a year before. Tanner and Damon tackle their pasts, their feelings concerning Jesse and their attraction to one another.Damon's words were a promise, not a warning, and Tanner knew here was no turning back. His body trembled and that made Damon smile."You like my weakness," Tanner said, but Damon shook his head and murmured, "That's not weakness, baby. That's surrender - and they're not the same thing at all."Their wrists, bound together still, we're stretched over their heads, each man lying on this arm, their fingertips touching and it was so close to being f*cking romantic and so f*cked up at the same time.4.5 stars
